Before Christmas
Before christmas we are quiet busy. Lot of people needs a good cleaning, make their house tidy. The only problem this time the weather. When its sunny, too cold to do guttering or roofing. When its not cold, definately raining. To find the right time to do the booked jobs, not easy.

,,Biscuit'' tile roof cleaning.
That was an interesting experience today. Personally, I never accept any roof cleaning with that kind of tiles. These tiles are breaking so easily and to change them is a nightmare.
Anyway, I started around 9 am on the north side of the house. Tried a couple techniques but I decided to use my 6meters brush. On that side, mosses was wet and sticked heavily to the tiles so hard to loose and sweep them off. On the south side was much easier, but was more mossy. After the winter will use AlgoClear to make this roof almost new condition.

New project
Today morning started a new project in Estree/London. That was a beautiful sunny day but quite cold. First done gutter cleaning/clearing, fascia- sofit cleaning and a half roof cleaning.
Will keep working on next monday some door cleaning and pressure washing.

Cast iron gutter refurbishing
Sometimes much cheaper to refurbish your washing machine, dishwasher etc. than buy a new one. Cast iron gutter is the same case. To buy and install a new one start somewhere 100-150£/meter. This is definitely not cheap. So, to find a cheaper solution you have 2 option. Change to pvc or refurbish. What is the advantage and disadvantage both? That will be my next post.

Back to marketing.
Hello folks
Sorry for haven't heard about me but thanks God I was quite busy. Today just finished a roof on school in Harpenden and tommorow get back to gardening and window cleaning.
So marketing, I still haven't start to distribute the flyers but from next week tuesday let's ride on. I want to post 5000 pieces within a week. That's a great challenge to find the right place to do and the right time of course. Willl keep you update how is going and what is the result but up to this time some pictures about my last week job.

Marketing again
Today I talked a new customer and I was really surprised what she said. She got my phone number through facebook! She is a member of the local comunity group and I was recomended by another member not just for her. I advertise on facebook used to be but had no success. This day and experiment was really positive.

New campaign
As I told you guys, to pay 3£ for a designer to make a good looking flyer is worth it really well. I post my new flyer to check them out.
Well, I will start to post my flyers from next weekend and I am really waiting the result. Hope to get min 2% of result. Means to get 100 new customers within the next 2-3 months.

Flyer design
Let's talk about flyer design.
First when I order it I paid 60£ for designing and 120£ or somthing like that for 2000 flyer. That was RUBBISH, TRASH,S@IT.
Those guys was not honest I have no single call, and wasted £££. If you need a good flyer design go to fiverr.com and you will find some extra value designer who can deliver quality design with modification if required for 3£!!! They are good!!! Not really worth to design by yourself and spend hours/days to try.

Sorry for not writing for a while.:)
Well, the last time I talk about marketing. As I said my experience is the mouth of word is the best but when you have free time to spread flyers, YES this is worth it. Better to do any marketing than do nothing.
From after next weekend will start post flyers and let's see how is going nearly after a year. My main goal to post 5000 Flyers for 3-4 weekends. If I choose the right area will result 20-50 new customers. Hope the best!!!

Marketing personal experience
Flyers: It is good sometimes but on this method nedds time. For example: spread out my last leaflet on january for gutter cleaning, and got some call on last week!!!! WOW! I posted more than 1500 leaflet and all together gain 10-15 jobs. It is not bad but not really good.
Mouth of word: Mostly When work all the neighbours calling me within a short time. specially for gutter and conservatory cleaning. It happen during in May, I cleaned a conservatory for a very nice gentleman, within 2 weeks I done the all Close!!! Well done job is the best advertising!:)

My personal experience is the marketing is the key. But HOW???? Flyers? net? advertising? newspaper? canvassing?
Well, I think the internet marketing and mouth of word is the best. Last year I tried flyers, canvassing but so little success, that I almost closed the business before actually started.

How hard to start???
I read a lot on internet how the gutter cleaning companies are working and which tools they are using and what is really worth to invest. Well, I made some general mistakes like everyone. I bought a gutter vacuum system for 600£, a camera system around 120£ generator for 400£. That was totally useless at this point because for the next 3 months I go 1 job!!!!!
I sold it straight away. Might be next year I need another one but that point definately doesn't worth to keep. No customers, no effective marketing.

Go on
After a month break let's go on the story. Sorry for this break but I was quite busy. So, When I gave up my last job I thought a lot which business would be beneficial within a short time. First, I would like to start a business with mobile car valeting with monthly subscription. It looked first quiet a good idea and added like an extra service window cleaning. When checked the market and looked around a little bit more orientated I realisedthat wouldnt work so after a couple weeks more searching I started the window gutter and patio cleaning (pressure washing).

How did I start. Part III.
In 2012 September or october I sent a week holiday with my 3 son, when I went back to work I was surprised how many things change. My,,friends'' started to organize how they can remove me from my position because one of my collegues come with another guy in the same car so they want to share the expenses. That situation was really disguasting. I helped this guy so many times and he sold our good relationship for might be 15£/month. So pathetic!!!
On christmas eve, I work again but talked to supervisor to not accepting any over time because want to be with my family and they never paid correct money for overtime. He said no problem . That was the first time to refuse overtime, and next week I was shifted to another round, 2 days later I gave up before do anything wrong with this gentleman. :)

How did I start. Part II.
The company wasn't bad at that time and get some experience how the life and relationship is working between people. Everyone smileing and nice but honesty they are just want to make some advantage for your bill. Everytime they complain. If we finish early they complain because I push them to work. If we finish early they complain I didn't work hard. They are always cried like kids in the dark room.
What did I learn from this people and this place? Well, never trust and never help people without any reason because if you do, they will ripp you off!!! This is the most important in the business life nowdays, I think.

How did I start? Part I.
For me the first time that was a big question . How should I start my business and what I should do actually? Hmm. My idea was first a mobil car valeting service. I made lot of plans how the business will be able to work and how much money I need to start it. That was not easy and just look around on internet tried to get as much information as I can.
I paid my url and left it blank for almost a year. Thinking and making big plans but actually I work like recycle driver in a company/May Gurney/ in Mill Hill London.

Gardening
After we received our brand new lawn mower we started a big garden project and done a 4 days gutter cleaning in a private school we can say, that was a busy week as wish for always. Personally I was surprised how many phone calls we received for gutter cleaning and not too many for window cleaning. Finished yesterday a new subpage for garden cleaning on our webpage.

Conservatory and Gutter...
We have a really nice weather in the past 2 weeks so do a lot of gutter and conservatory roof. For the next 10 days we do 2 big project and some small as well. One of them is an industrial gutter cleaning which will take 3 full days another one is gardening restoration with patio cleaning etc. Will upload some pictures when I finished it.

Sometimes I saw house which worth min. 300k and the gutter looks like a small garden on the roof. After the winter time they realize the gutter is broken and leaks. To change that is very expensive, if leave it house will be wet. So what is next???

Gutter Cleaning for £20??? YES!!! Part I.
On the winter the most important to keep clean is the gutter. To install a new gutter for a typical 3 bedroom detached house start around £600. To keep clean the gutter we can extend its life for years and keep our house dry.
